ADA-Indiana will commemorate the 18th Anniversary of the ADA this coming week. This summer has been full of news about the Americans with Disabilities Act, whether it is the new rules coming from the U.S. Department of Justice, or the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 making its way through Congress. ADA-Indiana will celebrate the anniversary by offering training opportunities in several communities.
On Tuesday, July 22, Ric Edwards, ADA-Indiana's Chairperson, will host ADA Legal Issues: ADA Coverage Beyond Actual Disability at the Indiana Government Center, Teleconference Room from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. EDT, Indianapolis. The workshop is recommended for human resource professionals and employers. It is free and open to the public.
On Friday, July 25th ADA-Indiana will host a videoconference event, Election Year: Celebrate Your Vote and the ADA, in four Indiana communities. The event will take place from 10:00 - 12:30 p.m. (EDT) and will feature Jeffrey Chait, Research Associate, from the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community and Julia Bauler, from the Office of the Indiana Secretary of State.
