REVIEW AND COMMENT ON GPC GOAL STATEMENTS: The Indiana Governor’s Council for People with Disabilities is in the process of developing the next Five-Year State Plan (FY 2012-2016). Because the Council values your perspective, we are seeking your review and comment on six proposed Goal statements which will guide the Council for the next five years.

The proposed Goal statements were developed by the Council board after considerable deliberation. These deliberations were based on the culmination of a series of activities spanning a two year period designed to collect and examine input via surveys, regional town hall meetings, data mining, analysis of state/national trends, presentations representing a number of different perspectives, and expansive conversations with advocates with disabilities and their families.

The Council sincerely appreciates your support of its work and would encourage you to set aside some time to provide comments on the proposed goals. The deadline for submitting your comments is Friday, April 8, 2011. Information resulting from public comments will be reviewed and considered by the Board in finalizing the Five-Year State Plan Goals. Comments can be submitted using the online form available at http://council.stateplan.sgizmo.com. Contact the Council office to obtain a public comment form in accessible format by calling (317) 232-7770 or gpcpd@gpcpd.org.
