Early Childhood Resources and Initiatives via YouTube

Visit the Early Childhood Meeting Place and the ECMeeting Place YouTube Channel to Learn about Resources and Initiatives for Indiana’s Families with Young Children. The Institute's Early Childhood Center team is continuing its effort to increase and maintain community awareness of the resources and initiatives that can support Indiana families with young children. Families use child care settings, early education programs, and resources for food, shelter, and more, and then move to new services and supports.

YouTube video clips are now informing Indiana’s families with young children, as well as the early care and education settings that serve them, about the wealth of resources that are available. Each video clip is posted on the front page of the Early Childhood Meeting Place.

If your agency would like to share an important initiative through a YouTube video clip, send an e-mail to ecmp@indiana.edu. The Early Childhood Meeting Place is a project of the Early Childhood Center.

Transmitting Tuesday’s Transition Tips to Teachers!

This school year, The Institute’s Indiana Secondary Transition Resource Center is again helping secondary education teachers and other transition professionals across Indiana look forward to Tuesdays. That’s when they receive the popular “Tuesday’s Transition Tips for Teachers,” a brief e-mail, usually featuring a link to a transition-related video, assessment tool, website, invitation to an upcoming webinar or workshop, and much more.

Previous tips from this year have included links to:

Webinar on work-based learning experiences;
Animated video depicting what it’s like to experience sensory overload;
Transition IEP examples for students with mild and severe disabilities;
Fact sheet on eating disorders;
FAQs on postsecondary independent living goals; and
Online peer mentoring curriculum for high school students.

Weekly tips are also available online at the Indiana Secondary Transition Resource Center website, where they’re saved on the Tuesday’s Tips page. Just scroll down beneath the Current Tip to select from a list of previous tips from this school year.  Past years’ tips are available on the site too!  While you’re there, you can also sign up for the listserv if you’d rather have Tuesday’s Tips emailed to you every week.
