Podcast Script: Welcome to the Indiana Institute’s in the Spotlight Podcast. This Podcast focuses on the Family Involvement Fund (FIF) which is a reimbursement fund that supports family members of children with disabilities, birth through age 21, to learn more about their child’s disability and the systems that provide services.
Families who access FIF funding, may choose to attend conferences, conventions, workshops, public forums or hearings, task force meetings, or other similar activities. Families may also choose to access training and information through online workshops, teleconferences, or webcasts. Additionally, FIF provides financial reimbursement for approved purchases of print materials such as books and manuals, or other media such as CDs and DVDs.
The FIF will reimburse approved individual applicants up to $250.00 dollars and up to $500.00 dollars per family for the grant year. Awards are per individual or family, not per child and are subject to change. Family includes parents, siblings, grandparents, and other extended family members, foster parents, legal guardians, and educational surrogates.
To apply for FIF funding, visit the Indiana Institute’s Early Childhood Center Family–to-Family Website at www,inf2f.org. You may also request an application by e-mailing fif@indiana.edu  or calling (812) 855-6508 and asking for Cathy Beard. Please submit your application as least 30 days prior to the date of the event.

The Family Involvement Fund (FIF) is made possible by the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services and First Steps Early Intervention System, through a grant to the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community, Early Childhood Center, Indiana University – Bloomington.
