Podcast Script: Greetings and welcome to the Indiana Institute’s in the spotlight podcast. This Podcast focuses on the work of the Center for Disability Information and Referral or CeDIR. CeDIR is the main information dissemination source of the Institute. The Center strives to be the primary disability library for residents of the state of Indiana by providing access to appropriate, quality materials, and services.
Whether you’re a person with a disability, someone who supports people with disabilities, or a researcher in the field, CeDIR can help meet your information needs. CeDIR has a lending library of approximately 8,000 books, kits, videos, and DVDs that are available to borrow by anyone in Indiana. CeDIR’s materials cover issues impacting the lives of people with disabilities from birth through the aging process. Information is available on topics such as diagnosis, early intervention, child care, education, employment, community living, assistive technology, disability rights, and more!
CeDIR’s materials are searchable through the Indiana University Libraries online catalog entitled IUCAT. IUCAT can be accessed on the Web at www.iucat.iu.edu or by going to the Center’s website and clicking on the Search Library Collection link on the left navigation bar. Feel Free to contact us to request materials or ask about the availability of items.
The staff of CeDIR looks forward to serving your disability-related information needs. Please give them a call Monday through Friday toll-free in Indiana at 800-437-7924, or send an e-mail to cedir@indiana.edu, or visit them on the Web at www.iidc.indiana.edu/cedir.
