: Welcome to the Indiana Institute in the spotlight podcast. Artists, Artisans, Writers, Performers and Others Pursuing Creative Careers: Do you have a physical or mental challenge or disability? Are you interested in increasing opportunities for artists with challenges and disabilities? ArtsWORK Indiana is forming a new regional affiliate for South Central Indiana with monthly meetings to be held in Bloomington. Join us to promote supportive networking and build arts career-related skills. Help us set the direction of this new organization, share refreshments and make new friends!

All are invited to the first meeting on Thursday, September 2, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at the Bloomington City Hall, Hooker Conference Room (2nd floor), 401 North Morton Street. Parking is free and the meeting space is fully accessible.

The mission of ArtsWORK Indiana is “…to facilitate access to careers in the arts for people with disabilities through awareness, education, and encouragement.” AWI is an informal, statewide group with a diverse membership of people with and without disabilities. ArtsWORK Indiana’s collaborating partners include the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC), Vsa arts of Indiana and the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community. Local partners include the Indiana Institute and the City of Bloomington.
