Advocates for people with mental retardation and related disabilities and their families. Local chapters provide advocacy, information, and networks for families of people with developmental disabilities. Many chapters provide direct services, including residential services, independent living support services, employment services, and others.

Provides case management, information, and referral services for persons who are aging or have developmental disabilities. Family-centered system that provides early intervention for children with developmental delays and/or who are developmentally vulnerable. First Steps serves children from birth through age three.
