SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT and COMMUNITY
The Hoosier Orientation
Handbook on Supported Employment
2002. 105 pp.
This handbook is meant to be a basic introduction to supported employment for
new staff (Employment Specialists) during their first few weeks of employment
and as a reference and resource book. The handbook is intended to complement any
current agency orientation and will fortify a basic understanding of the
supported employment process and the role of the Employment Specialist. It will
help the new Employment Specialist and his or her supervisor to develop a
personal learning plan. Becoming a successful Employment Specialist means
continuously discovering new learning opportunities. This handbook is a
beginning to developing these skills.
