- The ADA National Network announces a Free Webinar Series on the ADA for Hotels and other Lodging Entities - In preparation for the March 15, 2012 effective date of the new ADA lodging requirements, the ADA National Network, the American Hotel & Lodging Association, and the Asian American Hotel Owners Association announce a free six-part webinar series for the hospitality sector. The series begins on Wednesday, February 15th.
- Great Lakes ADA Center announces new schedule for Accessible Technology Webinar Series - The Great Lakes ADA Center and Pacific ADA Center, on behalf of the ADA National Network, had opened up registration for the 2012 Accessible Technology Webinar Series. Topics include web accessibility, CVAA, Mobile Accessibility, and more. The sessions are free but registration is required.
- The Job Accommodation Network posts new edition of their online newsletter - The Job Accommodation Network (JAN) posted a new edition of their online newsletter, JAN Enews. This issue focuses on "... some of the problems the holidays can create in the workplace and practical solutions to overcome these problems."
- JAN announces a new series of "Just-in-Time" Training Modules - The Job Accommodation Network (JAN) introduced the first session in their new series of "Just-in-Time" training modules. This first module covers the Interactive Process in workplace accommodations.
- New issue of the Accessible Technology Bulletin from Great Lakes ADA Center - The Great Lakes ADA Center has posted a new edition of their Accessible Technology Bulletin. They have a good article, "Web Accessibility Begins with Design" that covers how accessibility can be incorporated into all levels (technical, content, etc.) of designing a website.
- New issue of Access Currents from the Access Board - The U.S. Access Board posted a new issue of their online newsletter, Access Currents covering their activities in November and December.
- ADA Checklist for Readily Achievable Barrier Removal updated for 2010 ADA Standards - The New England ADA Center has updated the ADA Checklist for Readily Achievable Barrier Removal for the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design.
- The December issue of the Great Lakes ADA Center's Chronicle is available online - The Great Lakes ADA Center has posted the December issue of their online newsletter, the Great Lakes Chronicle. The "Great Lakes in Focus" column provides an in-depth look at the Safe Harbor section in the revised regulations. The "From the ADA Expert" answers a question from a company about their obligation to provide an interpreter at an event. The issue also covers updates from the federal agencies and upcoming training opportunities.
- The U.S. Access Board reopens Comment Period for Proposed Rights-of-Way Rule - From the Access Board: The Board has reopened the comment period on it its proposed guidelines for accessible public rights-of-way to February 2, 2012.
- Easter Seals Project ACTION to host free Webinar on Rail Accessibility on December 1st - From Project ACTION: Rail is becoming an increasingly popular transportation mode with record ridership amongst existing systems, new light rail development in cities across the country, and plans for implementing high-speed rail. This webinar will focus on how accessibility is included in the planning process, accessibility features that are included in the design of new rail projects, and how they become built into those rail systems. [Even though the webinar is free, registration is required by November 25th. There are limited spaces, so register early.]
