November 17th Audio Conference "Legal Update -Review and Analysis of Key Concepts under the ADA"
The November audio conference will feature Barry Taylor, the Legal Advocacy Director of Equip for Equality. Mr. Taylor will provide an update on recent case law and the impact on the Americans with Disabilities Act.
ADA-Indiana is funding 11 Audio Conference locations for the 2009-2010 ADA Audio Conference Series. There are two additional locations (in West Lafayette and Evansville) that are free and open to the public. Visit our audio conference page to find a location near you.

ADA-Indiana will be exhibiting at the 2009 Indiana Conference for People with Disabilities, “Invest in People and Share in the Profits.” The conference will be on Monday, November 16, and Tuesday, November 17 at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Indianapolis. Please stop by the ADA-Indiana booth for free information and handouts about the ADA, and 20th Anniversary commemoratives. The online newsletter covers updates on their enforcement activities under the ADA and other disability laws. There are a couple of Indiana organizations mentioned.
- GAO releases report on Higher Education and Students with Disabilities - The Government Accountability Office released a report titled, "Higher Education and Disability: Education Needs a Coordinated Approach to Improve Its Assistance to Schools in Supporting Students."
- Disability Rights Online News, Issue 32, September 2009 (from the U.S. Department of Justice) - The U.S. Department of Justice released Issue 32 (September 2009) of their online Disability News. The online newsletter covers updates on their enforcement activities under the ADA and other disability laws.
- U.S. Department of Justice enters into Settlement Agreement with LaPorte County, Indiana - The U.S. Department of Justice entered into a settlement agreement with LaPorte County (in northern Indiana) under their Project Civic Access initiative. (This is the fifth Project Civic Access settlement agreement for Indiana. Other municipalities included Allen County, Gary, Jeffersonville, and New Albany.)
