Is your establishment ready to serve everyone? You may have heard that the Indianapolis was recently recognized as 2009’s Most Disability Friendly City by the National Organization on Disability. We’re sure you will want to be among the best who welcome and accommodate customers with disabilities.

To assist you in reaching this level of service, ADA-Indiana invites you to a free training session – Hospitality and the ADA: Achieving Great Service for Guests with Disabilities. This training will be especially valuable for hotel managers, customer service representatives, conference coordinators, front desk managers, and the like.

We are excited that Marian Vessels, the Project Director of the Hospitality Initiative of the National Network of ADA Centers and a national expert in the area of Hospitality will be our featured trainer. In addition, there will be a panel of local hotel and conference planning staff sharing their experiences. A complimentary continental breakfast and lunch will be provided to attendees.

You (or your designated staff) will LEARN:

  • How the Americans with Disabilities Act (the ADA) applies to the hospitality industry
  • Ideas and resources for assessing accessibility (including reservation policies, accessible rooms, and more)
  • What accommodations are required
  • What is “disability etiquette”

And will LEAVE with:

  • Fact Sheets and handouts specifically about the ADA and the Hospitality Industry
  • Booklets about the ADA and Disability Etiquette
  • List of Resources (Regional, State, and Local)
