Early Childhood Center

Mission

The mission of the Early Childhood Center is to advance the universal design of early education practices that promote school readiness for all children.

To implement our mission, we work to link research and practice in advancing the field of early education by providing leadership and assistance to agencies, organizations, and communities serving all young children (birth through five years), including children with disabilities, and their families.

Center activities include:

  • Synthesizing research literature on evidence-based program policies, service models, and real-world applications;
  • Conducting research, program evaluation, and training on applying universal design principles to program policies, service models, and real-world applications;
  • Developing and delivering media products that inform and guide early educators, trainers, students, policymakers, families, consumers, and the public.
