Individuals and Families

The Center on Community Living and Careers also provides individuals, families, community groups, and organizations with a variety of trainings designed to help prepare people with disabilities for the transition process, employment, and the process of working with employment services around the state.
Many family members are surprised to learn that individuals receiving Mediciad can work and still maintain their eligibility. CCLC trainings give families a parent perspective on finding jobs, maintaining benefits, arranging transportation, and working collaboratively with schools and service providers.
Training topics include:

  • Employment
  • Social Security Benefits and Work Incentives
  • Community Connections
  • The Families’ Role in the Transition Process
