Disability Action Workshops

Focus on City Elections

CPPS conducted three Disability Action Workshops across Indiana in September 1999. The purpose of the workshops was to provide information on the city elections to people interested in disability issues. The workshop participants were encouraged to use the information to be actively involved in the 1999 elections.

Topics covered included:

  • How to have an impact on local elections
  • How to find out which candidate is disability friendly
  • Polling place accessibility
  • And more!

The Disability Action Workshops were sponsored by the Indiana Governor's Planning Council for People with Disabilities. The Center for Planning and Policy Studies at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community conducted these forums. People with disabilities, family members, and interested community members attended this free event.
