The Autism House: Visual Supports
for the Home
The Indiana Resource Center for Autism
is honored, through the efforts of Kristie Lofland, to have been part of
the creation of The Autism House: Visual Supports for the Home with
Rent-A-Center, Westfield Washington Schools, Noblesville Schools,
Hamilton Boone Madison Special Services and Carmel Clay Schools. The
Autism House was one of nine projects produced this year by the Hamilton
County Leadership Academy-Class of 2011. The Hamilton County
Leadership Academy’s project team includes Mark Booth of Noblesville
Schools, Garrett Dean of Key Bank, Tammy Havard of the City of
Westfield, Matt House of Beck’s Hybrids, Lu McKee of St. Vincent Carmel
Hospital and Gabrielle Sauce of SaucePanCreative.
The Autism
House: Visual Supports for the Home is a resource for families or anyone
who lives with someone on the autism spectrum. This simulated house
features a living room, bedroom, dining room/homework area, kitchen,
bathroom, and outdoor area set up with visual supports to aid
individuals on the autism spectrum as they go about their daily routines
at home. Helpful information from a variety of sources are available.
