2012 Indiana Disability Poll

2012 Indiana Disability Poll: Focus on Livable Communities

The 2012 Disability Poll focused on the livable community concepts put forth in a 2004 report from the National Council on Disability, “Livable Communities for Adults with Disabilities,” and was also informed by previous survey work conducted in Indiana and nationally by the AdvantAge Initiative. The survey looked at six focus areas:

  • housing
  • transportation
  • physical environment
  • work, volunteer, and education
  • health and support services
  • community and civic participation

Who responded?

The survey respondents for the 2012 Indiana Disability Poll included 651 respondents with disabilities, and 258 respondents without a disability. Between the two respondent groups, 81 Indiana counties were represented.
