Prior to joining the staff at CELL, Michele was an elementary school teacher for 18 years in the Monroe County Community School Corporation. Currently she is collaborating with her colleagues at CELL and the Equity Project on Positive Behavior Intervention and Support, Culturally Responsive Pedagogy, and Classroom Management.
Michele has facilitation and training experience in these areas; positive behavior intervention and support, culturally responsive pedagogy, classroom management, multi-age classrooms, reading and writing workshop, thematic brain-compatible teaching strategies, mentoring, inclusion, collaboration. Michele has also been trained as a school leader and team facilitator through Indiana's Dept. of Education School Achievement Institute (INSAI) - school improvement team/site based management leader/facilitator, National School Reform Faculty (NSRF) - Critical Friends Group facilitator and coach, IIDC/CELL Mentoring Matters - mentor for new faculty.
