EMPLOYMENT
Working with Indiana Vocational Rehabilitation Services, the Center on Community Living and Careers helps local and state organizations and agencies improve employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities.
Activities include:
- Developing the Leadership Academy, a career development and training program, for VRS personnel and other stakeholders.
- Assisting VRS staff and community rehabilitation programs to improve employment outcomes by developing a broad spectrum of training and technical assistance activities.
- Collecting and analyzing the Day and Employment Services Outcome System (DESOS).
- Serving as a clearinghouse of information.
- Supporting the implementation of Vision 2010 - Employment First for All.
- Assisting VR with corporate job development intiatives, specifically statewide implementation of Project SEARCH.

Information for Individuals and Families
- A Roadmap to Choosing an Employment Agency: A workbook designed to help individuals and families ask the right questions when interviewing employment agencies.
- Client Assistance Program (CAP): Established as a mandatory program by the 1984 Amendments to the Rehabilitation Act for individuals seeking services from a program or project funded by the Rehabilitation Act. In Indiana, this would be Vocational Rehabilitation Services, and Centers for Independent Living. Administered by the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA), Office of Special Education and Rehabilitation Services, U.S. Department of Education.
