  • Registrations for Outreach Training classes are now available online. https://ddrsprovider.fssa.in.gov/Events/Default.aspx

    Please watch for future announcements regarding topics, locations, date and time. To better serve you, we continue to expand the topics we offer, the frequency of presentations and the locations around the state. Several of our trainings fill up in a very short time and we maintain waiting lists of up to 40 or more people. We also send out reminder notices 7 to 10 days before the training.

    If you have been confirmed to attend a training and find you are no longer able to do so, please cancel your registration by clicking on the link in your confirmation e-mail and click on the “Cancel Registration” button at the bottom of the form.  Your seat can then be filled with someone from the waiting list.
    Even though it is clearly stated on our announcements that pre-registration is required, we sometimes still have people coming to the class without registering. Please be aware that this can cause crowding in the class, a shortage of handouts and may impact the quality of the learning experience of others.
    Please do not attend a training unless you have been registered. If you have questions at the last minute about the possibility of attending please call Lois Robinson at 812 265-7489.  If you have not pre-registered, it is the responsibility of the trainer to decide if you may stay or not.

    Our goal is to train as many people as possible and you can help us do this by complying with these guidelines. Thank you for your continued interest in

    Outreach Services trainings.

Who is INTrain?

Since 2003 a group of Indiana professionals and advocates have been meeting to explore the opportunities and obstacles to developing a comprehensive statewide education and training system to prepare and develop Indiana professionals within the disability community, and to enhance and improve the system of services available to support individuals with disabilities.

INTrain is guided by the principals articulated by John O’Brien in his teachings and writing on person centered planning and outcomes.

The vision of INTrain is that a comprehensive Indiana educational system will be developed that supports five core outcomes for people with disabilities. These are:
  • Community Presence—the sharing of ordinary places that define community life;
  • Choice—the experience of autonomy of life in both small everyday and large life-defining
    matters;
  • Competence—the opportunity to perform functional and meaningful activities with whatever level or type of assistance is required;
  • Respect—having a valued place among a network of people and valued roles in community life;
  • Community Participation—the experience of being part of a growing network of personal relationships that include close friends.
