Begin with the need, then bring together the right forms of support
Questions brought to CBSI rarely stay within one service or level. A training need may reveal an implementation barrier. A workforce challenge may involve role clarity, workflow, supervision, or leadership. A program question may require both evaluation and systems coordination.
CBSI brings these capabilities together while keeping the starting point clear. Each capability can stand alone or become part of a broader partnership. Support is shaped with the people closest to the work and adapted to the setting, audience, goals, resources, culture, and stage of change.
Build shared knowledge and practical skills
Interdisciplinary workshops, webinars, modules, learning series, intensive experiences, train-the-trainer approaches, and customized professional development.
Move from learning and planning to confident use
Individualized and team-based demonstration, feedback, mentoring, collaborative problem solving, and consultation in the settings where practices will be used.
Strengthen adoption, quality, and sustainability
We help partners assess readiness, clarify core practices, develop implementation plans, monitor how practices are used, align roles, and build the feedback routines that make consistent use possible. Support can be tailored to a single team, multiple sites, an organization, a regional initiative, a statewide effort or beyond.
Build capacity across roles and career pathways
Role-specific learning, onboarding pathways, leadership and coaching development, train-the-trainer support, experiential learning, mentoring, and employment initiatives.
Improve performance through stronger work systems
Clarify expectations, examine workflows and environmental conditions, strengthen feedback and recognition, improve supervision and leadership, and use data to guide performance.
Connect practice, leadership, and infrastructure
Facilitation, coordination, coalition and network development, role alignment, communication, organizational supports, and practical structures for complex cross-team or cross-system work.
Use evidence to learn, improve, and decide
Define meaningful questions, select appropriate measures, examine outcomes and implementation, interpret findings with partners, and translate learning into practical next steps.
These forms of support are not steps on a ladder. They work together across people, teams, organizations, and systems, allowing partners to access what they need at any point. The goal is to connect knowledge, people, and services so support is coordinated, practical, and responsive—not to move everyone through a predetermined progression.
A short conversation, then a shared decision about where to begin. [Subheading not yet updated -- confirm wording]
We start by learning about the challenge, the people and settings involved, what has already been tried, and what you hope will change. Partners do not need to move through a fixed sequence. CBSI can begin with just-in-time information, a defined training need, an implementation challenge, a workforce or organizational priority, a systems question, or an evaluation opportunity. The form of support can change as the work develops.
Behavioral and systems challenges cross traditional boundaries
CBSI options are applicable and adaptable to a range of populations, professions, organizations, and communities while remaining responsive to local strengths, needs, priorities, and conditions.
Whether you are exploring a training need, developing a new initiative, strengthening workforce performance, studying a program, or addressing a broader systems challenge, we can help identify a productive starting point.
