In August, IIDC’s Center on Community Living and Careers (CCLC) will offer a reformatted version of its Basic Benefits Information Network (BIN) Training to Indiana benefits professionals. BIN Basic participants are certified in Indiana to serve as BIN liaisons, who work with community service providers and other agencies to guide individuals with disabilities and their families as they explore the juxtaposition of employment and Social Security, health care coverage, and other services and supports.
New online/Zoom BIN Basic Training begins August 3 and runs through October 9.
Due to COVID-19 precautions, CCLC has revamped all of its BIN trainings, which are now presented on Zoom or as a blended format, combining Zoom sessions and online content modules. BIN Basic Training will now include:
- 8 weeks of twice-weekly Zoom meetings
- online content with weekly readings, assignments, and quizzes
- time, during the final two weeks of the course, to work on a case study and strategic plan assignment.
