Following a successful inaugural run, the IIDC's national Employment Consultant Training with an Emphasis on Customized Employment (ECT-CE) returns in 2022. Led by the Center on Community Living and Careers' Brady Powers, the next training runs from February 1 to March 31. Registration is now open.
Employment Consultant Training with an Emphasis on Customized Employment is certified by the Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE). Trainees earn the Basic Certificate of Achievement in Employment Services with an Emphasis on Customized Employment upon successful completion of all modules. Training also prepares participants for the Certified Employment Specialist Certification exam.
The online ECT-CE sessions cover need-to-know basics including laws and policies, the Discovery process, worksite and task analysis, assistive tech, job supports, working with vocational rehabilitation, and more.
In addition to customized employment, new specialized modules included with Employment Consultant Training will give trainees a foundation in:
- Mental health challenges
- Benefits and work incentive programs
- Working with formerly incarcerated individuals
ECT-CE registration is $325 per person. For more information, additional 2022 training dates, and to register, please go to the Employment Consultant Training page on the Center on Community Living and Careers website.
