Self-Employment Information and Training

Free Information, Support, and Guidance for Youth and Adults Considering Self-Employment

We hear about the benefits of self-employment: Be your own boss. Set your own schedule. Develop a personal relationship with your customers.

Members of the Indiana Self-Employment Advisory Council

It sounds good, but what does that really mean? And how does that work for individuals who may be receiving state and federal supports? The “ABCs of Self-Employment” will help you answer those questions.

Sponsored by the Indiana Governor’s Council for People with Disabilities, the ABCs of Self-Employment is a FREE information session about self-employment. You’ll hear success stories from Hoosiers with disabilities who are self-employed or who have started their own business. These 3-hour information sessions will take place throughout the year in various locations (see the list, below).

After attending, if you are interested in learning more and want one-on-one support to pave your road to self-employment, you’ll have the opportunity to enroll in a two-day, in-depth “Road to Self-Employment” workshop in 2020 in Indianapolis. This workshop, presented by experts, is interactive, intensive, and designed for people with disabilities. You’ll learn about business plans, marketing, benefits, funding, financing, and more.
