Register Now for April Benefits Trainings

Registration deadlines are fast approaching for Benefits Information Network (BIN) liaison training, provided by Indiana Institute's Center on Community Living and Careers

By creating a network of liaisons well versed in state and federal benefits programs and work incentives, BIN training ultimately improves the ability of people with disabilities to make decisions about employment and work with the health care, housing, on-the-job, and financial supports they may need.

BIN liaisons - employment specialists, consultants, social workers, and other disability service professionals - work with a comprehensive curriculum to ensure that they have a thorough understanding of both benefits and federal and state work incentive programs.  Basic and Advanced training components include training exercises, competency tests and field assignments.

Upcoming trainings are:

2014 Indiana Disability Poll

As Disability Awareness Month comes to a close, please take a moment to complete this year’s Indiana Disability Poll on Leadership and Disability History. People with disabilities, their family members, and disability advocates are asked about what skills and resources are needed by people with disabilities for advocating for local and state change, and are invited to share their own experience and knowledge of state and local historical moments, events, and people (living and deceased) that made a difference in promoting inclusion, civil rights, and quality of life for people with disabilities in Indiana communities.

The Disability Poll is anonymous, and should take you about 10-15 minutes to complete. For questions or more information, contact Matt Norris at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community at cwlab@indiana.edu or (812) 855-6508.

The Indiana Disability Poll is a collaborative effort between the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community at Indiana University – Bloomington, the Indiana Governor’s Council for People with Disabilities, and Indiana Protection and Advocacy Services (IPAS).
