As Hoosiers, we believe that nothing is more important than fostering the strong development of Indiana’s young children. Today’s children become tomorrow’s adults, and investing in early childhood sets the trajectory for optimal development and community participation. Indiana has a thriving statewide early intervention system, called First Steps. First Steps identifies very young children (birth to 3) who are experiencing developmental delays and disabilities, and provides those children and their families with needed services in their home. Early intervention is an exciting time to work with children and families, since brain development occurs most rapidly and flexibly during these first three years of life. First Steps served 26,074 children and families last year alone! And we can’t do the work by ourselves.
First Steps will be holding the second statewide conference for our dedicated personnel. This special conference brings Indiana’s Early Interventionists together to share, learn, and network, for the betterment of our young people. The conference will be held on June 13-14, 2019 in Bloomington, Indiana and will include two national keynote speakers.
Nearly 500 people attended our inaugural First Steps Conference. It was incredible, and 99% of attendees said that they were satisfied with the knowledge and skills they gained. 99% of attendees also said that they would recommend the conference to a colleague. Please help us make this next First Steps conference a collaborative success by becoming a sponsor. We will honor each of our sponsors, in various ways, at the event. More information about the benefits of sponsorship can be found on our sponsor information sheet below.
