Research and Policy

The IIDC creates and contributes to state and national policies informed by research from the Institute’s Centers and collaborative partners. Our work focuses on creating a world for every ability by developing, promoting, and educating others about research-to-practice methods. Our staff includes national experts on disability-related topics who regularly contribute to policy development and implementation.

In addition to providing online information and hands-on community engagement, IIDC experts have contributed to a variety of research documents and policies. Our impact includes:

Research and Analysis

The education, experience, and expertise of staff across the IIDC’s seven Centers provide a strong foundation for research and analysis. Our work addresses issues that affect individuals with developmental disabilities across the lifespan, from federal and state policy, to employment engagements, to education and inclusion opportunities that shape daily life. Every research project involving IIDC staff aligns with the Institute's mission: creating a world for every ability.
