Partner for Progress: Advance and Apply Best Practices with the Eppley Center!

Tuesday, May 20, 2025

The Eppley Center provides training and learning design, research, planning, and accessibility guidance to parks and public land agencies.  Together, we will focus on up to date and practical solutions for interpreting park resources, enhancing visitor experiences, and managing facilities, natural resources, and cultural assets.

Supporting Smarter Park Master Planning

Fundamental to every agency is a master plan, updated every 5 to 10 years, that assesses existing systems, clarifies current levels of service, determines community needs, and allows managers to develop an overall strategy which includes both short- and long-term adjustments. The Eppley Center works with its partners to create plans designed to fit each agency’s size, community, and overall mission.  Eppley is helping communities create spaces that are more welcoming, sustainable, and adaptable for the future.

Enhancing Accessibility in Public Spaces

Walk your park with us and see it through a new lens. Our accessibility specialists will evaluate your park, historic site, or recreation area’s existing conditions and make recommendations on removing barriers to full participation by people with disabilities in your programs and facilities. All of our assessments look at the complete visitor experience from an entry-to-exit perspective. The final accessibility assessment provides a plan for improving access overtime to agency assets, locations, facilities and programs based on ease of implementation and cost.

Building Knowledge Through Online Learning

Reach out to learn more about our e-course development services. We have developed hundreds of compelling online e-courses for agencies that are effective, generate revenue, and lead to improved services. These specialized courses will ensure that your employees, volunteers, and partners share the same values and approach to managing your parks, recreation programs, facilities, and services. Eppley also provides a specialized strategic learning content learning ecosystem for agencies short term strategic learning activities.

Looking Ahead

Working with our partners reflects a shared commitment to strengthening public lands through innovation and education. Whether it’s reimagining park systems or equipping professionals with the tools they need to lead, we are paving the way for more equitable and vibrant public spaces across the country.
