The Faces of Eppley: Colleen Durkin-Blackburn

Wednesday, December 17, 2025

This month, we’re excited to shine our staff spotlight on Colleen, who has been an invaluable member of Eppley since joining the team in August of 2022. From her first day, Colleen brought a steadiness and dedication that quickly made her a go-to colleague for collaboration, reliability, and problem-solving.

Colleen holds a Bachelor degree in Liberal Studies from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Tufts University.  Her background centers around individuals with disabilities, including community living, employment, vocational education, medical rehabilitation, accessibility within the private and public sectors, as well as higher education. She is a certified Accessibility Plans Examiner, ADA Coordinator, and licensed Occupational Therapist.

In her tenure at Eppley, Colleen has managed and contributed to several projects.  Her main area of focus is accessibility planning and training, which includes onsite and virtual physical and programmatic assessments and facilitation of the collaborative planning process to improve access to recreation sites and programs.  Colleen has also worked in Eppley’s planning area, which includes master plan development and capital improvement planning.

During her time with Eppley, Colleen has earned a reputation for her thoughtful approach, her commitment to quality, and her willingness to step in wherever she’s needed. Whether she’s managing complex projects or supporting her colleagues, Colleen is an unshakeable team-player!

Beyond her professional strengths, Colleen is a dedicated mom and a proud dog owner to two energetic pups who keep the household lively. In her spare time, you’ll often find her quilting or crafting.  She loves to celebrate her family and friends during the holidays with handmade designs.

Thank you, Colleen, for your hard work, enthusiasm, and excellence. Eppley is stronger because of you!
