Local Programs

State Partners
The ECC staff knows early childhood best practice and how government systems operate. We leverage this unique expertise by supporting state government programs to accomplish their objectives. We have successfully partnered with Indiana's Part B (IDOE) and Part C (First Steps) systems and the Office of Early Childhood and Out of School Learning (OECOSL) to implement new practices and evaluate existing ones. For example, we've worked intricately with Indiana's First Steps early intervention program, from the state leadership team to home visitors, to create a statewide continuous quality improvement system.
We've also developed a comprehensive training system that delivers high quality professional development, including coaching, to early intervention providers across the state on evidence-based home-visiting practices. Indiana's OECOSL contracted with us to develop and conduct a full evaluation of the Early Education Matching Grant (EEMG), Indiana's publicly funded preschool pilot for low-income families, including classroom assessments (CLASS), family engagement assessments, child assessments (PPVT and Bracken), family and teacher surveys (PKBS-2), and writing full reports utilizing data visualization technology. If your team has been tasked with a new initiative, wants to implement new practices within an existing system, or is interested in assessing the efficacy of a current project, we can help! We conduct needs assessments, support data-informed decision-making, identify evidence-based practices, assist with forming implementation teams/advisory boards to foster fidelity and sustainability, design and provide effective professional development (including coaching) and evaluate efforts' impact.

Community Organizations
ECC staff understands the multiple factors impacting communities and the challenges involved in initiating change at a community level. We rely on current research and implementation science to support organizations wanting to initiate evidence-based early childhood practices at the local, state and national levels. For example, we recently worked with the Wabash Community Foundation to deliver a series of professional development opportunities followed by classroom observation and feedback and are currently working with the Monroe County Community Foundation to provide professional development and Practice Based Coaching (PBC) to select early childhood providers on high quality classroom practices. Contact us if you need help with needs assessments, data-informed decision-making, identifying evidence-based practices, forming an implementation team/advisory group to foster fidelity and sustainability, designing and providing effective professional development (including coaching), or evaluating impact.
