This 8-week, comprehensive online training gives employment consultants, specialists, job developers, and other professionals the foundation, techniques, and effective strategies necessary for supporting job seekers with disabilities.

If you are involved in training, preparation, hiring, inclusion, and job placement for inclusive community employment this training is for you.

Training content covers need-to-know basics:

• Policy and law
• Vocational rehabilitation
• Discovery
• Person-centered approaches
• Strategic plan development
• Job development and supports
• Worksite and task analysis
• Resource mapping
• Assistive technology

New Specialized Modules

Employment Consultant Training now includes the following specialized modules:

• Customized employment
• Benefits and work incentive programs
• Working with formerly incarcerated individuals
• Mental health challenges

All training content modules will be available on Canvas for the duration of the course. 

Upon enrolling, you will receive instructions and the link to Canvas. Note: When you register, you'll receive an email invitation to the course. Be sure to accept that invitation, or Canvas will not allow you to open the course modules.

Trainees can move through the course at their own pace within the eight-week timeframe and even finish the course early. Course assignments will be graded, and attendees have access to instructor support and feedback throughout their training.
