Indiana Employment Specialist Training introduces new employment specialists, consultants, job developers, and other employment professionals to the field of community employment services. Multi-format training, which begins May 4 and runs through June 30, provides participants with a solid foundation for helping job seekers and employees with disabilities as they navigate Indiana employment services, Discovery, transition supports, and customized employment.
CCLC staff oversee ACRE-approved Employment Specialist Training instruction. Individuals who attend the virtual meetings and successfully complete all online assignments receive a competency-based certificate from Indiana University.
Comprehensive Employment Specialist Training content also prepares participants for the national Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) exam and includes information on: policy and laws, person-centered planning, job development, worksite analysis, assistive technology, job supports, and more.
Training includes both online content and six required Zoom sessions. Zoom meeting dates and topics:

June 8--Transition, Pre-Employment Transition Services & IEPs
June 9--Customized Employment
June 10--Goal Writing & Data Collection
All Zoom sessions are 10 a.m. to noon, Eastern Time.
