IIDC’s Center on Community Living and Careers is going national with its respected Employment Consultant Training. This online training runs from Nov. 15 to Jan. 7 and now features a special emphasis on customized employment.
Employment consultants, specialists, job developers, and other professionals across the U.S. can learn the foundation, techniques, and effective strategies necessary for supporting job seekers with disabilities when they enroll in Employment Consultant Training.
Training covers need-to-know basics including laws and policies, the Discovery process, worksite and task analysis, assistive tech, job supports, working with vocational rehabilitation, and more. In addition to customized employment, new specialized modules included with Employment Consultant Training will give trainees a foundation in:
• Mental health challenges
• Benefits and work incentive programs
• Working with formerly incarcerated individuals
Employment Consultant Training with an Emphasis on Customized Employment is certified by the Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE). Trainees successfully completing all training modules are eligible for the Basic Certificate of Achievement in Employment Services with an Emphasis on Customized Employment. Training also prepares participants for the Certified Employment Specialist Certification exam.
